Dwelt start - in rear - pulled hard early - going okay when plenty to do from over 2f out - shaken up when not clear run over 1f out - kept on well when in the clear inside final furlong - never near to challenge - eyecatcher (inquiry held into running and riding; jockey stated that his instructions were to get gelding to settle in order to get him to finish race well as gelding has shown tendencies to race keenly in the past; he added - having jumped from stalls - gelding took hold of the bit and he wanted to settle his mount in order to get him home; as such looked for cover but he was denied a clear run - a fact that he had reported at scales; trainer's rep confirmed instructions were accurate but - having spoke to trainer on telephone - they expressed dissatisfaction in timeliness of ride and expected gelding to be under full pressure sooner; vet examined gelding on two occasions post race when selected for routine testing and there was nothing to report)(tchd 50/1)
