Held up in rear - ran green but some headway 2 out - no chance but kept on run-in (inquiry held into running and riding; jockey said his instructions were to get gelding settled and jumping in early stages as on his previous run over hurdles at Kempton - he ran keenly before falling when weakening at 2nd last - losing confidence as a result; he further added gelding made a mistake at 4th last and made a respiratory noise - raced greenly and hung both ways before the last where he ran on strongly albeit past tiring horses; trainer said his last race had taken a long time to build back his confidence - hence the absence of 311 days; he further added the instructions were as jockey stated and that he was very satisfied with the run; he may now consider riding gelding more prominently and consider addressing the respiratory issue through either a tongue tie or wind surgery)(tchd 100/1)
