Always towards rear - became detached 3rd (jockey said - regarding the poor form shown - that her instructions were to sit in mid-division - finish as close as she could and be competitive; she explained gelding was outpaced from the onset - which she reported at scales on returning to weigh in; trainer confirmed instructions and added that gelding is quirky; however he stated that he was dissatisfied with the ride as gelding had been allowed to become detached early on in the race and that had caused the gelding to lose interest and jump poorly without company - which was noted; vet said a post-race examination failed to reveal any abnormalities)(op 28/1)
