Chased leaders - 5th halfway - slightly hampered 2 out - no impression on winner in 4th at last - one pace run-in(op 4/1 tchd 7/2)

In rear of mid-division - raced keenly early - left moderate 10th 2 out - not much room and switched left between last 2 - improved into moderate 7th from last where slight mistake - ran on into never threatening 5th - not hard ridden (jockey said regarding running and riding that his instructions were to jump off around mid division and not be too hard on his mount - that he'd be learning and the horse would also. In the race his mount was keen early on but he got him in a rhythm. As there is a long straight at this track he didn't want to get his horse off the bridle early. At the second last his mount gurgled - whereby he gave him a chance and he got going again after the last hurdle. He further added that his mount made a respiratory noise again on pulling up. He acknowledged that he should have reported this information. When asked if he was harder on the horse could he have finished any closer - he stated that he could maybe have finished a place or two closer but he would not have won the race. Trainer's rep confirmed the instructions given to the rider. As it was the horse's first run they didn't have previous runs to go on but the horse was pretty straight and fit for his debut today. While taking the rider's relative inexperience into account - he felt that he could have made more effort; vet said gelding returned post race normal)(op 66/1)

Mid-division - 9th halfway - headway 3 out to chase leaders - in touch when hampered 2 out - soon no extra under pressure and weakened in 5th run-in

Mid-division - 8th halfway - driven in 9th into straight and no impression on leaders before 2 out - kept on one pace

Held up - 12th before 6th - took closer order before 3 out - driven in 7th before straight and no extra when hampered 2 out where slight mistake - weakened

Mid-division - ridden after 3 out and no impression on leaders before next where hampered

In rear of mid-division - driven after 3 out and no impression before next where slightly hampered

Towards rear - driven and no impression after 3 out - kept on one pace in behind after next

Held up in touch - 7th halfway - driven and no extra after 3 out - weakened before next

Towards rear throughout - driven and no impression after 3 out - never a factor

Disputed early until led after 1st - headed after 4 out - weakened behind leaders after next where slight mistake
