Bangor-on-Dee - 2m½f Kevin Brogan Faye Bramley 10 4:25.17 9 10-9 40/1
Held up in rear - headway into midfield after 4th - lost ground from 3 out - tailed off (an enquiry was held into the running and riding; the rider and trainer were interviewed and shown recordings of the race; vet examined the filly on two occasions post-race and had nothing to report on the first examination - other than filly had lost her right-fore shoe; however - on the second examination he said filly was slightly lame (1/10th) on that same leg; jockey said his instructions were to drop in - get the filly settled and hopefully finish the race off well; he said filly was a little keen - travelling strongly through the early stages but eventually relaxed and was slightly inconvenienced at both the second and third hurdles by Phantom Gold jumping right-handed and causing Chico Magnifica to make contact with his mount; jockey described the pace as being solid throughout and in the main filly jumped pretty well - other than not being entirely fluent at the fifth-last hurdle; he added that it was at this point he changed his hands on landing and started to ride the filly forward but there was no response forthcoming; jockey added that he maintained this level of effort until approaching 2f out and he considered that his mount had finished tired; trainer confirmed the instructions issued and that in essence the ride had accorded with them; she explained that the filly has been difficult to train and is both lightly framed and very gassy; she further added that filly did not jump well at Wetherby - on her hurdles debut and raced in a ring-bit for the first time today; jockey was suspended for 14 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure his mount was given full opportunity to obtain the best possible placing - in that he could not be seen to demonstrate asking for timely - real or substantial effort)(op 20/1)
